  My car was serviced here at the end of August, about which I have no complaint. Within a month the brakes started grinding so on 26th September I took it back for investigation. They test drove and said they couldnt hear the noise, but the pads looked ok so it was safe. I drove from Plymouth to Surrey and back with the brakes making the same noise. On 6th October I went back to Halfords again. Another test drive and this time they heard the noise, but said that the pads looked ok for now. I would probably need discs and pads soon but for now it was safe to drive. I was quoted £158.99. The noise continued and I took the car to K***** on 7th October. They put the car on the ramp and found the rear inside pad had worn away and lost about 2mm of metal. They needed to be changed immediately for safety. Little option but to have the work done there, even though it cost £110 more than Halfords had quoted. On contacting Halfords I got an apology but no more. Shocking customer service.
